Zip Ode to Your Library

Zip Ode to Your Library

Write a Zip Ode to Your Library
What does the library mean to you? Library lovers everywhere are invited to write an ode to your library based on your ZIP code. It’s fun! It’s fresh! It’s easy!

What is a Zip Ode?
A zip ode is a five-line poem in the form of your zip code. Write the numbers of your zip code down the left-hand side of the page. Each number determines the number of words in that line. Note: if you have a zero in your zip code, that line is a wild card!
Example:
(3) Books, movies, music
(3) Card number memorized
(4) Home day and night
(2) Not bored
(6) I love Delray Beach Public Library
33426
Boynton Beach

Use your words, show your love, be published
You are welcome to write as many zip odes as you want March 1-31 and submit them to isabella.rowan@delraylibrary.org
We will publish the best, most creative odes on our website and social media sites during National Library Week, April 4-10.

National Library Week (April 4-10, 2021)
The theme for National Library Week 2021, “Welcome to Your Library,” promotes the idea that libraries extend far beyond the four walls of a building – and that everyone is welcome to use their services.
