Reading Behind the Words: Understanding the Short Story

Workshop dates: March 3, 10, 17 & 24, 2026 @ 2-3:30PM

Utilizing all new material, Winson will teach you the basic elements of the short story including setting, character, plot, conflict and theme.  Recognizing the function of these elements adds depth to the story and helps the reader understand the sturcture and meaning of a short story.  Participants will read selected short stories each week and will acquire the skills needed to understand and interpret not the short story but also longer works of fiction.
