Throughout the history of modern forensic science, certain areas of expert testimony have gone virtually unchallenged in all criminal trials. Now, for the first time, criminal defense attorneys are developing new and innovative ways of challenging these once unassailable types of expertise— fingerprints, ballistics and DNA evidence.

Meyer Lansky was a Jewish kid from the Lower East Side in New York in the early part of the twentieth century. He teamed up with such notables as Charles “Lucky” Lucciano and Bugsy Seigel, to form a gang that would morph into Murder Incorporated. He was a professional gambler by trade and helped to open up Havana’s gambling circuit and to develop Las Vegas. In any mob hangout, one of the photos on the clubhouse wall was sure to be of Meyer Lansky.

From the early days of World War II and beyond, a circle of upper class dilettantes from Cambridge formed the most infamous double agent spy cell of the era. Jointly, they provided thousands of classified documents to the Soviet Union and virtually went undiscovered because “English Gentlemen simply don’t betray their King and Country”.
