12 Sep National Voter Registration Day at the Library Sept. 25
The Delray Beach Public Library is committed to strengthening our community by getting voters registered on National Voter Registration Day.
Join us on September 25 to register to vote and get a library card. That’s two very important cards, and they’re both free!
Library staff and volunteers will be available to assist with voter registration to discuss the election process from 10 am to 6 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 25 in the first floor large meeting room. Refreshments will be provided to new registrants.
Paper applications in English, Creole and Spanish will be available, and volunteers will assist with online registration at registertovoteflorida.gov.
Voter Registration is crucial to a healthy democracy. That’s why the Delray Beach Public Library has partnered with EveryLibrary and National Voter Registration Day to promote the importance of voter registration and provide access to information.
To register to vote online, you will need your Florida driver license or identification card. To protect your identity, you will also need the issue date of your driver license or ID card, and the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
The library will deliver applications to the Supervisor of Elections Office, no postage necessary.
To be eligible to register to vote you must be a citizen of the United States of America, a legal resident of Florida, and a legal resident of the county in which you seek to be registered; be at least 16 years old to preregister or at least 18 years old to register and vote; not have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state without having the right to vote restored; and not have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored.
Oct. 9 is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election, so don’t delay!
