Local Author Fest 2023
Sunday, March 26, from 2:00-4:30 PM
South Florida is home to many talented published authors and we love making them and their books available to you. Join us on Sunday, March 26 at 2 pm for Local Author Fest ’23 presented in partnership with the Women’s National Book Association, South Florida.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet local published authors and talk about their books and the writing and publishing process. Authors of all genres will be present, and books will be available for purchase and signing. Buy one for yourself or for gifting.
Our special guest and keynote speaker is Thomas Swick, author, travel writer, and former travel editor for the South Florida Sun Sentinel, a position he held from 1989 to 2008. During his tenure, the paper’s name appeared in the first nine editions of The Best American Travel Writing.
Swick’s work has appeared in numerous publications, including The American Scholar, Oxford American, Missouri Review, Ploughshares, Wilson Quarterly, Smithsonian, National Geographic Traveler, Los Angeles Review of Books, New York Times Book Review, Wall Street Journal, and Literary Hub. His first book, Unquiet Days: At Home in Poland, was published in 1991. A collection of his travel stories, A Way to See the World, was published in 2003, and a collection of his essays and stories, The Joys of Travel, appeared in 2016. His fourth book, a memoir, will be out in November.
This fun event is free and open to the public.
Registration is not required.
