Get in Your Element this September—sign up for a library card!
From borrowing books, ebooks, and museum passes to getting homework help, learning new skills, or attending story time, a library card helps you do more of what you enjoy. Get a library card and dive into a new hobby. Use your library card to tinker in a maker space and spark your creativity. A library card is your most important school supply—it’s elemental, really—and everyone should have one!
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the American Library Association and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every child signs-up for their own library card.
The Delray Beach Public Library joins this wonderful effort with a superb line-up of September programs and services for all ages. And that’s not all! We will have 4 Weekly Raffles of Book Baskets and other bookish rewards for Children, Tweens, Teens, and Adults!
This year’s Ambassadors to Library Card Sign Up Month are Ember and Wade from the Disney Pixar movie Elementals! Get ready for a photo op with their life size cutouts and your brand new, or tried-and-true, library card and enter to win one of the weekly raffles. After all, a library card is elemental!
Stop in for a raffle ticket by:
- Showing/getting a new library card
- Updating your Library Account
- Checking out a book
- Attending a library event
- Showing us your Aspen LiDA App
- Showing us your Libby, Hoopla, CloudLibrary, & Palace App
Drawings and winners will be announced on Fridays, September 8, 15, 22, 29 at 4pm.
Tickets must be completed with full name, contact information, and library card number. Only one winner per week, per age category. Prize must be picked up by September 30th 2023. Does not need to be present to win.
