Registration is open for the Library’s popular FREE computer classes held in the Empowerment Zone on the 2nd Floor. Whether your skills are basic or need a tune up, the Library’s staff can help you meet your goals. You can also tune up your skills in the Empowerment Zone (E-Zone) on Mondays and Thursdays in May, from 1-3 pm and 3-5 pm with help from Library’s Reference staff to learn more about mousing skills, Microsoft Office tutorials and practice or how to access the Library’s on-line resources for education and job search through JOBNOW, LEARNNOW and HELPNOW by Brainfuse.

Got a new laptop with Win10 Operating System? Or did you update your older computer? This lesson will teach you how to get started with Windows 10, tips for managing multiple Windows, personalize your desktop, customize the start menu and making Windows 10 feel more familiar.

Wednesday, May 3, 2017 – 2-4pm Gmail Basics
Introduction to Gmail, setting up a Gmail account, sending and responding to email, adding signatures and vacation response, sending and receiving attachments.

Thursday, May 4, 2017 – 10:30-12pm iPad Basics
Learn how to get started with iPad, using the iPad Operating System, keyboard, browsing with Safari and installing and managing Apps.

Friday, May 5, 2017 – 2-4pm Gmail Advanced
Managing emails, deleting emails, spam, working with labels, creating filters, search mail and more.

Tuesday, May 9, 2017 – 2-4pm Word 2013 Basics
Teaches you how to create and open documents, saving and sharing documents, text basics, formatting text, page layout, checking spelling and grammar, and printing documents.

Wednesday, May 10, 2017 – 2-4pm Word 2013 Intermediate
Learn about indenting, tabbing, line and paragraph spacing, lists, hyperlinks, breaks, columns, headers/footers and page numbers and tables.

Thursday, May 11 2017 – 10:30-12pm iPad Intermediate
Increase your basics skills and learn about security and general settings, wallpaper and sounds, managing notifications, syncing your iPad, mail and contacts.

Friday, May 12, 2017 – 2-4pm Word 2013 Advanced
Enhance your word skills by learning to work with Objects, SmartArt Graphics, Styles, Themes, Mail Merge and more.
