Jewish Kid Lit Festival

Presenters: Audrey Ades, Joni Klein-Higger, Jill Nadler Ross, Stacie Ramey, Debbie Reed Fischer, Jonathan Rosen, & Debbie Zaken


A fun afternoon for Jewish and non-Jewish families, kids, tweens, teens, and writers to come explore Jewish literature for young readers, and to meet seven South Florida Jewish authors.

1:00PM - Jill Ross Nadler as Miss Understood leads an interactive reading of her picture book SUCH A LIBRARY! Followed by a popup book craft. For ages 5 and up.

2:00PM - Joni Klein-Higger reads her picture book, BARNYARD BUBBE’S HANUKKAH, and sings some original and traditional Hanukkah songs. For ages 5 to 7.

2:30PM - Audrey Ades reads her brand new book THE RABBI AND THE REVEREND: JOACHIM PRINZ, MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., AND THEIR FIGHT AGAINST SILENCE and leads a discussion with young readers ages 7 to 11.

3:15PM - Picture book signings in the Lobby.

3:30PM - Middle grade and YA authors, Stacie Ramey, Debbie Reed-Fischer, Jonathan Rosen, and Debbie Zaken will offer short readings from their select books and convene a panel discussion: LIFE AS A JEWISH KID LIT WRITER: LOOKING AT MIDDLE GRADE AND YOUNG ADULT BOOKS THROUGH THE LENS OF JEWISH IDENTITY. For ages tween, teens, and adults.

4:30PM - Middle grade and YA book signings in the Lobby

Books will be available for purchase.
Recommended for families with children age 5 and older, tweens, teens, and adults with an interest in Jewish literature and/or writing.
