*No class March 21 and 23
We are so happy to have received the English for Families program grant for Spring 2023 from Florida Humanities. Developed in partnership with the Orange County Library System (OCLS), English for Families is a series of interactive classes for kids and their parents that focuses on developing English vocabulary and literacy skills through strategic and fun story reading and activities. Designed specifically for individuals whose native language is not English (ESOL), the goal is to develop the literacy skills of the whole family. With the help of an English teacher, the path is created for success at work and school. The program curriculum develops participants’ English language skills and literacy through books, flashcards, and direct instruction.
How to Participate:
English for Families at Delray Beach Public Library is open to middle school students in 5th, 6th, and 7th grades along with an adult (parent, friend, or family member). Registration is required and space is limited.
REGISTER BY FEBRUARY 15!
The program is completely free and dinner will be provided. Kids and their adults are encouraged and expected to attend all sessions. We will meet twice a week for five weeks.
This program is a partnership between the Florida Humanities and Delray Beach Public Library. Funding for this program was provided by Florida Humanities and sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.
