Discover how the advent of the automobile brought new mobility and freedom for African Americans but also exposed them to discrimination and deadly violence, and how that history resonates today. We will screen the film, Driving While Black (2021, NR, 115 minutes) followed by discussion with
Dr. Candace Cunningham, Assistant Professor of History, specializing in African American history, Women and Gender studies, and Public History at FAU.
