Abraham Lincoln was an Illinois state legislator and lawyer dedicated to internal improvements and railroad development. As a practicing lawyer, he handled several famous railroad cases that had national impact. Upon being elected the 16th President of the United States, he became a proponent of a transcontinental railroad system. Presented by Robert Krasner, local historian and Civil War era enthusiast.

About the presenter: Robert L. Krasner is currently treasurer of Palm Beach County Civil War/Nineteenth Century History Roundtable, Abraham Lincoln Association, Society of Civil War Historians and U.S. Grant Associates.
