Designer, author and observer of all things stylish, Steven Stolman is a graduate of New York’s Parsons School of Design, and spent many years on Seventh Avenue before going out on his own with a collection of resortwear for men, women, and children. Sold from his shops in Southampton, Nantucket, Beverly Hills and Palm Beach, his simple, unique designs cut from decorative fabrics became a cult favorite.
In 2011, Stolman became president of Scalamandre, the renowned textiles house. During his tenure, he spearheaded an extraordinary brand expansion strategy and also authored Scalamandre:Haute Décor, a sweeping, large format coffee table book on the house’s storied past and revered postition on today’s interior design scene.
Following Scalamandre, Stolman penned five more books for publisher Gibbs Smith, including Confessions of a Serial Entertainer, 40 Years of Fabulous: The Kips Bay Decorator Show House, The Serial Entertainer’s Passion for Parties, and Betty Kuhner: The American Family Portrait. He is now in the process of writing his first book for renowned publisher Rizzoli, along with contributing frequently to Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, and Town & Country magazines. Stolman is married to software executive Rich Wilkie, and they divide their time between homes in Palm Beach and Southampton, NY.
