Teen Center’s New Mini-Library Aims to Get ‘Books in Hands’

Not every Delray Beach teen has a permanent address, which is required to get a public library card. Trish Jacobson, co-president of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Woman’s Club of Delray Beach, realizes that. Her club, which originally founded the Delray Beach Public Library more than a century ago, has partnered with the Delray Beach Public Library and city of Delray Beach to create a mini library at the 505 Teen Center. The movement has created a local sort of rebellion for literacy.
