Returns to the Delray Beach Public Library


The Dawn Basham TrioThe Delray Beach Public Library, 100 West Atlantic Avenue, is pleased to announce the return of its highly successful Sunday Musical Matinee Series. Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor the Library will once again eature a stellar line-up of talent. You can enjoy wonderful musical programs and help support the Library at the same time.

Once again, a "subscription" for a contribution of $50 per person for all four performances is available. All tickets can be purchased at the Library Circulation Desk. Tickets for individual shows are available for $15 per person.

The 2009 season offers a wide variety of music appealing to all ages. It is the best deal in town! The schedule is as follows:

  • Musical Program #1 - Sunday, January 4, 2009 @ 2:00 p.m. Join us as we kick-off our series with The Dawn Basham Trio for an afternoon of everything from jazz standards to songs from the Great American Songbook.

  • Musical Program #2 - Sunday, February 1, 2009 @ 2:00 p.m. Join outstanding classical pianist Fedora Horowitz and flamenco guitarist Howard Greenblatt for an afternoon of classical music with a Spanish accent.


  • Musical Program #3 - Sunday, March 15, 2009 @ 2:00 p.m. Join nationally touring family band ShaeLaurel for Celtic, folk, bluegrass and original music as well as demonstrations of Irish step dancing and American clogging.


  • Dick Doc Duo
  • Musical Program #4 - Sunday, April 26, 2009 @ 2:00 p.m. Join Violinist, Marshall "Dick" Frank, retired Miami-Dade Homicide detective and author and Pianist, Jay "Doc" Barnhart, retired physician and forensic pathologist for an entertaining program entitled "Dick and the Doc" featuring Broadway show tunes, Classical, Tango, Italian, Irish, Jewish music and more!

All performances will be held in the Library Auditorium and doors open at 1:30 p.m. All seats are on a first-come, first-served basis.
