On Friday, January 29, 2010 the Delray Beach Public Library will host the Laugh with the Library - Chapter 4 event at the Delray Beach Marriott. DOORS OPEN AT 7:30 PM SHOWTIME: 8:30 PM.
Delray Beach residents and Library Board members Becky Walsh & Heidi Sargeant will once again serve as Co-Chairpersons for this entertaining night of comedy.
As hundreds of members of our community have discovered for the past three years Laugh with the Library - Chapter 4 is not an evening that requires formal attire; it is not an evening with a silent auction; it is not an evening with a live auction; it is not another charity ball! It is an innovative and fun-filled evening of cocktails, supper by the bite and of course comedy. This year it will feature the non-stop comedy of nationally-known, stand-up comedian Rocky LaPorte. The former Chicago truck driver and dock worker started his standup career in the windy city back in 1988 winning The Johnnie Walker National Comedy Competition beating out over 1100 contestants in 10 cities!
Rocky is one of the most sought after comedians in the country. His clean observations and take on life have made him a favorite in all the top comedy clubs, corporate events and television shows. Rocky's likeability and every-man style gives him an unparalleled universal appeal that any audience can enjoy and relate to.
You won't want to miss this party! All monies collected from this fun-filled evening will be used to enhance programs and materials for children and teens. Last years' event raised more than $40,000 for the Library
